Have managed to get the mountboard false walls into the bathroom. Amazingly I think I am planning and doing things in the right order! Have used a stencil I brought from Black country miniatures and the walls have been painted in Farrow and Balls Setting plaster. I want it all to have a faded, distressed look so there will be more work to do on the walls.

It has been forever since I've posted on here. I'm trying to rekindle my love of creating a miniature project. It seems since I started making dolls for a living, my passion for making miniature scenes in general has dwindled. I still collect amazing peices from artisans all over the world, but the actual building and making of a whole scene just doesn't seem to happen. Time always an issue, but also after doing dolls all day I can't gather enthusiasm to do any other miniatures. So last weekend at York dollshouse fair, I brought myself a conservatory from Mark The Dollshouse Builder. I have a plan in my head for what I want to do and the building was of the right size and had the glass roof I was eager to have. This building is not going to resemble in any way the conservatory it is intended to be. My plan in to make a bohemian style scruffy bathroom and terrace outside. I'm going to use this space to log the bathrooms progress. Here is a picture of what the building is supposed to look like and also a picture of the sides assembled. I am not using the kits french doors as I want to make my own, so the first alteration to the kit was removing the bottom peice of the french doors frame. I have a planned trip to Hobbycraft tomorrow to get the supplies I need to start the transformation. see you soon xx

Had a wonderful show in Rheda, Germany this weekend. Plenty of shoppers through the doors and on Saturday my stand looked very depleted rather quickly. The show is so well organised and Barbara and her team are so helpful. Was lovely to catch up with old friends and new. Have a few dolls left from the show, this photo is of the stand at the start of the show. Will be listing any left on Etsy in the next week. New news: I have been asked many times about putting some kind of mark on my dolls for identification and at the show Julie and I found some tiny stamps to be able to do this. So......hopefully any new dolls from now on will have a tiny GK somewhere on them. Will post the first one to show.Jain x

Had an absolutely fabulous show at Kensington last weekend. My little characters disappeared off to their new homes rather quickly, there was quite a few disappointed people going to think about it and coming back to find them gone. It has been a very busy week getting ready for the 1 zu 12 Die messe in Rheda, Germany this weekend. This is the second time I have been to the show. Its a good venue, well organised , with plenty to see, it is well worth a visit. Here are a couple of characters coming with me.If you are attending the show, please drop by and say hello.

Well 2013 has been such a good year for The Giddy Kipper.I love attending fairs and seeing all my friends and customers. This year I have attended for the first time, two fairs abroad. The first at Rheda-Wiedenbruck Germany. Brilliantly organised and in such a pretty place. As usual I shared a table with my friend Julie Campbell and we enjoyed some time off to explore the town. The second show was Apeldoorn in The Netherlands which was held in October the weekend of the bad storms. We had a fabulous time there, but our journey home was a little hairy to say the least. With these two shows added to Miniatura and Kensington in the UK, I have been keep very busy. Next year promises to be just as exciting.I now have a fairly booked up commission book and will be just taking selected commissions in the future.
